Building access, protection, colour, repairs, ventilation, and cleanup should be settled before condo painting starts.
1. Confirm the building rules
Ask about contractor hours, elevator bookings, parking, loading, insurance documentation, waste handling, and any restricted products.
2. Define the exact surfaces
List walls, ceilings, closets, trim, doors, frames, and any exclusions. This keeps estimates comparable.
3. Inspect repairs before choosing a finish
Patches, cracks, water stains, failed caulking, and glossy surfaces can change the preparation and primer requirements.
4. Test colours in the unit
Condo light changes by exposure, glazing, flooring, and nearby buildings. Review samples in the actual rooms.
5. Plan protection and storage
Decide what will be moved, what remains in place, and how floors, furniture, counters, and common areas will be protected.
6. Coordinate access
Clarify keys, fobs, alarm instructions, concierge procedures, pets, and who can answer questions during the work.
7. Allow for ventilation and curing
Agree on ventilation, temperature, and when rooms can return to normal use.
8. Schedule a final walkthrough
Review the agreed surfaces in consistent light and record any incomplete items before the project closes.
